Recently watched the moving James Keach documentary “Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me” on CNN, about his final concert tour. I was so privileged to meet him for an interview in October 2011, shortly after he received his Alzheimer’s diagnosis (http://www.americansongwriter.com/…/glen-campbell-memory-m…/). He joked and reminisced with me (to the best of his ability) for an hour and a half. The things I love about Glen Campbell are things we will always have, thanks to his recordings: that magnificent, high, lonesome voice with its unerring pitch, the simplicity of his delivery, the honesty; combined with his breathtaking, genre-bending guitar playing. So glad he got in another 100-plus shows. In case you missed it, CNN will repeat the film on July 4 at 9 p.m.

Calling all #BonnieRaitt fans — her new album ranks with her best ever. My Amer. Songwriter review: http://ow.ly/aidkS
“Wichita Lineman” is on many people’s short list of the best pop songs of all time. But when Jimmy Webb wrote it, not only did he doubt he had a surefire hit, he didn’t even think he had finished the song. It was a joy to interview him for this article, which appears in the Jan/Feb 2012 issue of American Songwriter Magazine.
Country/Pop music legend Glen Campbell is now defying Alzheimer’s disease to play for his fans around the world one last time. It was a privilege to interview him for this article, which appears in the Jan/Feb 2012 issue of American Songwriter Magazine.
So glad we saw Sarah Siskind on Saturday night with her amazing trio, “The Novel Tellers,” performing songs from her new album, “Novel,” at the Greyhorse Tavern in Bayport, L.I. For more about what makes her so special, see my feature-length interview with her in American Songwriter.
I was thrilled to attend a NYC taping of CMT Crossroads: Vince Gill and Sting on Tuesday. Amazing show, as expected — it will air on Nov. 25. For more, read my write-up of the show in American Songwriter here: – http://bit.ly/pzxOyP.
